We will sit with you and your student to learn how high you would like to reach, and together we will make a plan and pursue that dream. We provide the flexibility to tutor in-home, at school, or at a public location of your choosing.
At Empowered Tutoring, we have a wealth of teaching and tutoring experience that spans every grade level and most every subject. We have a passion for learning, we have a passion for teaching, and we have a passion for helping students succeed.
We believe in a “back-to-the-basics” teaching strategy
We understand the importance of keeping ahead of the newest teaching trends, but we are also firm believers that many techniques that have been tried and true for generations should not be casually tossed overboard. Memorization, repetition, confidence-building through achievement, and accountability are just a few of the foundational elements that guide our tutors.
Sara Snyder – Executive Director
Sara believes in the power of storytelling to build connections. She comes from a long line of caring communicators and leverages her years of corporate marketing and journalism experience to help raise awareness of Empowered Tutoring’s mission. She and her husband, Anthony, have three grown children and live in Appleton. In her spare time, she appreciates a good story in any form – books, articles, films, shows, theater and conversing with friends. She grew up on a dairy farm in northeastern Ohio and is a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan.
Connie Chynoweth – Program/Office Manager
Connie has over 20 years of experience in various office management roles in the real estate and medical fields. Her areas of expertise include human resources, bookkeeping, customer service, and workflow optimization. Connie has a lifelong love of reading and a passion for helping children. Connie is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have three children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her kids, and her grandkids, as well as reading, gardening, and scrapbooking.
