Library Learning
At the Appleton, Seymour, and Menasha Public Libraries
The Library Learning program allows financially disadvantaged K-12 students access to tutoring services in any academic subject area right at their local public library. By helping students in need, we will work on closing present educational gaps. The library provides a communal place of resources and technology for students who may otherwise be lacking these materials. By providing one-on-one tutoring time, we can help students to reach grade-level proficiency and ultimately have access to a greater number of opportunities in the future.

Shoulders To Stand On
Collaboration with local high schools
In partnership with Green Bay West High School, Empowered Tutoring tutors provide 1:1 academic tutoring, ACT test prep assistance, and life skills mentoring to a group of under-served high school students. Tutors are working on campus to provide general math, science and reading assistance as well as STEM subject tutoring (e.g., Chemistry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus, etc.). A second element of the program is mentoring – supporting the students as they develop critical life skills that will allow them to successfully pursue their post-secondary educational dreams.

“Knowing that I can meet with someone each week to get help with my classes has been super helpful. It is also very encouraging to know I am preparing for the ACT in a way that I would not have been able to without the program.”

A “Little” Help
Collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters
By partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, we are able to help those “littles” who may need extra academic support.

“Cindi (the Empowered Tutoring tutor) has most definitely had a positive effect on my daughter and her progress. My daughter looks forward to the tutoring! It’s great, and I am glad you guys have this program. We love Empowered Tutoring because my daughter needs extra help, and she is doing much better. It’s baby steps, but it is also helping me to understand how I can help and work with her too.”
